Concrete shed base
Micromix provides a range of easy to lay, durable concretes suitable for building shed bases. Before you order your readymix concrete please ensure that the prepared ground is even so the concrete shed base dries level. Also, it is best to create a frame or edge to support the shed base concrete when it is poured and sets.
Whether you are planning a concrete or paved base you will need an aggregate sub-base layer to help achieve a level finish.
Our Gen grade concretes are typically used as shed base concretes at a mix ratio of 1 part cement to 5 parts aggregate and sand. If you are looking for concretes with improved performance attributes we can also recommend alternatives such as fibre reinforced concretes for extra strength or even rapid drying concretes to reduce project timescales. If you plan to place something particularly heavy on your concrete shed base or need help calculating the amount of concrete you need, speak to one of the team. They are happy to help.
When building please remember that concrete is caustic and can cause injury if it contacts your skin or eyes. Please wear suitable clothing, long sleeves and trousers. We always suggest the use of safety goggles.
